We must do more to protect ourselves from digital crimes such as ransomware attacks. As the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Cybersecurity, and Biotechnology, I led the development and passage of the state's first comprehensive cybersecurity package to protect our state agencies, local governments, and all the data they hold from cyberattacks. I have also introduced and supported legislation to protect our children online through education and criminal penalties. I look forward to overseeing implementation of these bills and continuing this work to make sure we can all feel safe and secure in our communities and online.
